Founded in 1973, the NRA Whittington Center hosts many competitive, educational and recreational activities in all shooting disciplines.
The Whittington Center is a rapidly-growing destination recreation site. Not only is it a world class shooting facility, it offers a variety of recreational activities.
Nestled in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, its natural beauty and wealth of history make the Whittington Center an exciting vacation spot. Easily accessible from I-25, the Whittington Center is located 10 miles south of Raton on Highway 64.
The Whittington Center encompasses 33,300 acres ranging from 6,300 to 8,100 feet in elevation. Breathtaking views, outstanding climate, hospitality and an array of family activities such as hiking, bird watching, wildlife viewing, and camping make the Whittington Center a place everyone can enjoy.
There is a broad range of housing to accommodate individuals, couples, and small to large groups.
